This picture was taken in England in 2008. We found the sparkly blue singlet/swimsuit laying around and I HAD to wear it. After the show the promoter said I could never wear it again... such is life. HATERS GONNA HATE.

First off, I’d like to thank everyone who came out to this weekend’s EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA shows. I talked to lots of people who made the journey out to their very first independent wrestling shows and they all said they had a blast, even though both buildings were about ten zillion degrees Celsius. But it was a great weekend of wrestling, and it seemed like despite the heat everybody had a great time. If there is one thing I will miss most about WWE, it will be the air conditioned buildings... and showers. On Saturday night in Philly I wrestled for close to 30 minutes and I felt like I sweated out 15 pounds. If only I could look that lean all the time, then I could really be a part of TJP’s Abs Crew. Alas, that day will probably never come.

This weekend I’ll be in Reseda, CA on Friday for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and in Robins, GA on Saturday for Rampage Pro Wrestling (RPW). If you’ve never seen PWG before, I suggest you check it out as its some of the funnest wrestling I’ve ever been a part of. Its often wacky and irreverent, but its carved itself a great niche in the pro wrestling world. People come up to me all the time and talk to me about an interview I did there (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSh2s_lmthI), and I even heard people “buzzing” for me at WWE shows. It always makes me smile, no matter how mean I’m trying to be. I’ll be wrestling my old pal Roderick Strong, who may actually cave my chest in with his chops. Roddy is one of the main contributors to the many scars I have on my chest, and I will be bringing LOTS of Neosporin. I’m also hoping the legendary Lloyd Boner will be able to do some commentating. Saturday will be my first show for RPW and I’m pretty excited because I haven’t wrestled in Georgia since 2001. I’ll also get to meet up with my old pals Jimmy Rave and Sal Rinauro, who are hilarious. If you are near either of these shows, I welcome you to come check them out. Hopefully it won’t be as hot as last weekend!

And finally, the Teddy Bear T-shirt design contest has come to a close. People sent in sooooo many awesome designs, and now I’m in the painstaking process of trying to select one. Its going to come down which design actually looks best on a shirt. I was thinking of having a poll so people could vote on it, but I fail at technology and the thought of doing it intimidated me. Yes, I know, that ranks very low on the manliness meter. Either way I’ll post some of the art on the website soon, as so many of the people who follow wrestling are extremely talented. That’s all for this week and I hope to see some of you at the shows!

P.S. Feel free to send pictures from the shows to danielsonfanmail@gmail.com. I’ll try to get them posted on the website!

  2. Always awesome to see a new post and can't wait to see the winning t-shirt design :)

I know you probably can't comment or maybe things are still up in the air, but I'm hoping we see you in the WWE again soon... exposing an audience of that size to how amazing true wrestling can be is a fantastic thing. I think your talent can make a LOT of people into life long wrestling fans.

    Keep up the great work!

  3. I was one of those "first time at an indie show" guys and enjoyed the hell out of your match with Shingo. Totally worth traveling to and from Richmond that night just for that match! Your dedication to the sport and constantly honing your craft is so apparent in your in-ring work. Thanks for your tremendous efforts in keeping "professional" wrestling alive today, as it should be!

  4. You're not a member of the abs crew already? I challenge that. You look very spiffy in blue too. Yes, I said spiffy.

I'm glad you had an awesome time in Philadelphia. Even though I'm kind of mad that I missed it, I'm rather glad that I didn't have to deal with the really bad heat from that day. The humidity sucked so bad.

  5. So this is the first I've heard about your Georgia appearance this weekend, and now I'm contemplating making the 3 or so hour drive to catch the show. See you Saturday Bryan.

  6. Thank you for what you've done for independent wrestling... It means a lot as an indy wrestling fan because without you they wouldn't be as strong as they are today. I don't want to be stuck with only mainstream wrestling and their 10 minute matches between 6'8" guys who can't wrestle to save their lives.

  7. Have fun in SoCal. Hope you can make it up to the northern half of the state some time :) Thank you for everything you've done for the independents.

  9. Evolve, Dragon Gate, PWG... THAT IS WRESTLING! Fuck WWE, fuck TNA.

Bryan Danielson IS independent wrestling. For me, the American Dragon going to WWE was the worst news ever. So I'm very happy that Danielson goes back where he belongs: Indy Wrestling.

It's in Indy Wrestling that Bryan Danielson gave us all he got. Just to name a few examples, we can think of his matches in ROH against Nigel McGuiness, Jimmy Rave, Spanky or Austin Aries!

Let's face it : we'll never see a classic Danielson match in WWE. WWE would just not allow good matches!

Dragon, you're the BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD! Don't waste any time in WWE or TNA. Please!

  11. It is so Sam and from what they did with him at Summerslam and what looks like is a program they are starting with the Miz, it seems to me that they are starting out great with him. Way to go DB on your first PPV, in the main event no less!!! Keep up the great work and I hope you build a great fued with you and the Miz. He is one of the hottest heels right now and I would love to see you with the U.S. Strap on your waist.

  12. last ''raw'' shows TRIPLE H beating u up (like a mugging) so do we conclude this was ''scripted'' or was it ''real'' and if real, then HE IS PROVING THAT as the boss, he'll go to ANYLENGTHS TO BEAT YOU, WHETHER IT BE cheating, or using his power, or deceiving you, but ultimately will be the man who takes revenge on your holding his ''ring hostage'' he handcuffed you and held you hostage and will not play fair, until he proves that MIGHT MAKES A WINNER, and his way rules, not the BEST MAN WINS, but the BOSS ALWAYS WINS.. this kind of ''poor sportsmanship'' has turned me sour to the watching of ''MUGGING'' CALLED entertainment, this is NOT A SHOW FOR CHILDREN, (not for family) doesn't uphold family values, and glorifies cruelty for the sake of BUSINESS, when this would be tantamount to press charges in the ''REAL WORLD'' so you stay, BECAUSE YOU NEED THE MONEY AND HAVE COMPROMISED YOUR INTEGRITY for the kind of people you hang with and work for... it is like an ''amoral '' boss that gets you to consent to his level of honor.. (WHICH IS no honor) you are not the underdog if you keep aligning yourself with this brand of ''ethics'' (which there is none in the ''shield'' or TRIPLE H brand of exerting authority.. ME? IM A RETIRED TEACHER, and i would have changed employers if i were treated like this, WHAT A POOR EXAMPLE OF A PARENT TO KIDS THIS IS
